I've been feeling like I've been missing something lately, and the Sound & Music lecture we had in Intro. to Film a few weeks back helped me figure it out. As my heart swelled with the music, which just happened to be by my favorite composer (Hans Zimmer), I suddenly realized that I really miss being involved with making music. So, I put my name in to be in the band next semester. For some reason, you don't have to try out for Winter semester. It's a first come first serve type of deal. Hopefully, I'll get in.
I need to feel the music around me again. I need to look at the page and feel that sense of peace as I know that I'm part of it.
I need to play again.

Learn to Cook Something New
Hot Crash Potatoes!
Ever since my friend Jamie Coupaud posted the recipe on Facebook, I've been dying to try it. So, when my friend Rhonda invited me over for dinner tonight with her family, I decided it was the perfect opportunity!
Here's the recipe if you're interested. She includes tips and pictures and you just can't go wrong. :)

Next time, I'm going to boil them longer. They were NOT easy to mash.
Before I put them in the oven... Don't you just love potatoes?
The finished product!!
They turned out pretty good, but next time I'm definitely going to let them boil longer and I need to use more seasoning. But, Rhonda's family said they loved them (I really hope they weren't being polite to spare my feelings) and I liked them myself. The recipe says to use what ever spice or herb you want to, so I used garlic. Mmmm. :)
Learning to cook something new was on my live list!
